As an small, independent social enterprise we rely entirely on our team of volunteers who are passionate about supporting our mission. If you would like to contribute your skills and time, we would love you to register your interest as a volunteer. Whether it's in-store as a retail assistant, organising events, or assisting with our marketing, your involvement is invaluable.
By committing to one regular morning or afternoon shift each week, our volunteers help us:
- Keep our doors open seven days per week
- Generate funds that are donated back into the local community
- Support circular fashion, sustainability and social good

Retail Assistant - Manly NSW
Do you have a passion for fashion, a love of eclectic treasures, and a heart for making a positive impact in your community? Look no further – we want you to join our friendly Op Shop team as a Volunteer Retail Assistant in our Manly store.
- Shifts are relaxed, social and shared with other volunteers. Tasks will include:
- Serving and chatting with customers
- Processing orders using Square POS
- Keeping the racks and displays maintained and the store's cleanliness and organisation.
We’re looking for volunteers who can commit to one regular shift per week (either a morning or afternoon). That small, consistent commitment helps us plan, stay open and remain sustainable as a volunteer-run organisation.

Social Media Co-ordinator

Op for Change is looking for a Volunteer Social Media Co-ordinator to help bring our brand to life online and grow our community.
The Role
- Craft and schedule engaging posts across various platforms, showcasing our unique finds and store events.
- Develop creative content, including eye-catching graphics, photos and videos.
- Foster community engagement through comments, messages and collaborations.
- Keep an eye on trends and suggest innovative ideas to boost our online presence.
- Gain valuable experience in social media management.
- Showcase your talent and creativity to a broad audience.
This role would suit a digital communications student who's looking to gain some experience in a volunteer environment.

Photographer
Love photography? Passionate about fashion, sustainability and creative storytelling?
Op for Change is looking for a Photography Volunteer to help bring our preloved pieces to life through beautiful imagery.
The Role
As our Photography Co-ordinator, you’ll work in-store to capture images for our website and social media. This includes:
- Photographing clothing on mannequins in our small in-house photo studio.
- Shooting accessories, jewellery and homewares
- Capturing occasional content for social media
- Light editing to enhance images for online use
What We’re Looking For
- Access to a good quality camera or smartphone
- Some photography experience (formal or self-taught)
- Basic editing skills (e.g. cropping, lighting adjustments)
- A creative eye and attention to detail
- An interest in fashion, sustainability or storytelling is a bonus
